For Paper / Category-I Lower Primary Classes (Class 1-5):

Intermediate or equivalent with at least 45% marks.

Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary or Equivalent with at least 50% marks and 2 years of Diploma in Education (Special Education).

Intermediate or equivalent with at least 45% marks and 2 years of Diploma in Elementary Education.

Intermediate or equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years of Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

For Paper / Category-II Upper Primary Classes (Class 6-8):

BA / B.Sc / B.Com and 2 years of Diploma Elementary Education / trained Teachers' Certificate (TTC).

Passed Intermediate or Equivalent with at least 50% marks along with appearing and qualifying 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).

Bachelor's Degree with at least 45% marks and 1 year B.Ed.

Higher Secondary / Senior Secondary or Equivalent with at least 50% marks and 4 years of BA / B.Sc Ed / B.Sc.Ed.

For Paper / Category-III Higher Primary Classes (Class 9-12):

Bachelor's Degree with at least 45% marks along with B.Ed.

MSc.Ed Degree.

Paper / Category IV- Language Teachers:

Certificate / Diploma / Degree in teaching in any subject approved by Universities / NCTE / Board of Examination / Government of Kerala.

Teachers of Arabic / Hindi / Sanskrit / Urdu / Specialist Teachers / Physical Education Teachers
